Thats the approach that will keep you in a perpetual cycle of never winning a cup.
I know this is unrealistic but if you want to win, moving a prospect for a proven minute eating top line D man would be something a winning team would jump at.
No, that’s the approach you need to turn into a perpetually “playoff team” that struggles to get beyond relevance like the wild were for the past decade. The jets would love Jones, don’t get me wrong, but no team in their right mind would trade a perfetti for him, especially with that contract. Add in pionk who is a good 2/3 d on a very good contract and this move doesn’t make the jets better off for a cup, it’s makes them much worse. AND then you proceed to add high end assets in Lucius and a 1st.
The fact that you think that jones’ value magically went up from the summer after signing that insane contract and showing (albeit so far) that he doesn’t deserve the contract, says enough about this post.
The jets aren't trying to close their window by moving this much for a guy like Jones who would probably be a locker room cancer for the jets and a long term liability.
Yes, the jets have a need for a big top pairing rd (in my opinion), but they would be insane to give up this much for a minor need.
Again, this is not how you contend for a cup, but this is how the blackhawks would absolutely steal a trade from the jets who would be complete idiots to make the trade. Which, if chevy has shown anything in 10 years, won’t happen cause he doesn’t lose many trades, and when he does, definitely not this badly
