What happened to him? In Boston, he seems to have had a good stats last season.

From an optics standpoint, waiving him only diminishes his value further, getting out from under this contract will be very difficult. But this was the right move for the TEAM, Ritchie was not 1 of the 12 best forwards the Leafs have when healthy. Curious to see how this all plays out. Nick being waived still doesn't free up that much cap

12 better forwards. 7 NHL dmen that should be on the roster.

If Leafs could carry more than 21 skaters he wouldn't be waived.
