Description
Could the Lottery fall to NJ again? Have a feeling the Montreal ball will have a special weight to it to guarantee it falls first, but a guy can dream.

Would love to watch a Bratt-Hughes-Mercer line ... and Hughes-Hischier-Wright-McLeod down the middle would be rock solid & versatile. Need the right bench coach, but the ability to create favorable match ups, with that line up, would certainly be there.

Assuming some combo of Zacha, Johnsson, Tatar and/or Kuokkanen are traded, if there is a deal to be had. Tatar's & maybe Johnsson's contracts may be a tough sell, but both are in final year.

Montreal may lose the draft since there will be no attendees. And I am not even certain Wright goes 1st overall. If we were to win another lottery (and its been 3 years, so we're due), I would think we would have to strongly consider Cooley or one of the big RDs

I wouldn’t mind moving down 6-7 spots if Devils won the lottery. Think that the top 10 names for the draft or more or less interchangeable in talent and potential. Could definitely get Jiricek or Nemec at 7 or smthn.

if we got 1OA and Wright is 1 or 2 as long as we could get one of the RD men what is the ask to get a team to move up from 3-4, to 1?

I think Cooley, Wright, and the two big RDs are all gone in top-5. My 5th would be Lambert. Maybe even Chesley or Lekkerimaki.

So I'd agree, move back to #3-5 at most...

Who moves up though? And whats the payoff?

Well, it's a longshot banking on GM's looking to move up and down, not that I'm counting on it actually happening.
Just a hypothetical I'd be strongly in favor of.

To add to the guys you floated, at this moment I think of Slafkovsky and Kemell to be in that same tier.
So that's 7 guys that'd be more or less interchangeable for me.
