I doubt Manson would sign for less than he's currently making and it's very unlikely that you'll get a 1st for Kerfoot.

Ottawa is not a dumping ground for Mrazek and pretending that it is doesn't change the fact that your team lost 1 game out of 82.

      Big deal.

      Get over it.

      1. Why would the Leafs trade Liljegren for basically nothing when he’s been a very effective defenceman when playing and is still very young, and
      2. Why are we trading tons of picks and players for UFAs when we can go out and get them for free?
      3. No need for Chychrun in the long run AND that’s more than what we would ideally give up for him. A top prospect, a top pair (yes aged but still very good) d man, a younger d man, and a first for Chychrun who in my opinion isn’t currently better than Muzzin (yes he will be long term but currently speaking)? None of it makes too much sense from the Leafs standpoint. I do like the cap management tho to keep guys like Campbell and the core 5

Muzzin isn't a top pair Defenseman.

Chychrun is better than Muzzin. Like, miles better, it's not even close.

And depending on what your definition for "top prospect" is, Robertson might not be that. If "top prospect" in this case means a team's top prospect, then sure. It's debatable who the Leafs' best prospect is and I'd have Niemelä, Knies and Amirov ahead of Robertson, but you can make a case for him. But if "top prospect" means one of the league's best prospects, then he isn't one. Top prospects are the 15 to 20 best prospects in the league and he's not among the top 20.
