Description

With Dallas six points back from a wildcard spot, Klingberg seemingly wanting out and preparing to test the open market in the off season, and the arrival of Jake Oettinger in net; the Dallas stars would be wise to attempt a retool this season. Although having games in hand, they are struggling to score, as they are one of 7 teams that have yet to reach 100 goals for. Seguin, Benn and Radulov and clearly past their primes, and while they are the leadership group for the squad that took the Stars to the SCF in 2020, their on-ice production has decreased. The proposed changes allows Dallas to gain assets for valuable pieces such as Klingberg, Pavelski, Radulov, and Holtby; while trading them to teams that seek depth in the respective areas. Furthermore, Dallas acquires top picks to either utilize in future trades for younger, established players to complement Heiskenen, Hintz and Robertson, uses them for drafting purposes, and young players that will accelerate a retool and given an opportunity to gain confidence in larger roles.
