Description
Basically if the organization decides the current foreward core will be to old to compete when the defensive core is finally all up on the NHL roster. The Galchenyuk and Draisaitl trades are really hard to value so suggestions on what they should look like would be appreciated.

The Montreal Trade is basically even for me. I'd rather see Hudon than Letkonen.
The Ottawa trade may happen, but I don't see them trading Ceci for veteran forwards.
The Arizona trade is in favor of the Flyers. I don't think that we could trade Schenn for Course straight up, let alone snagging two picks and Dunclair.
The Edmonton trade is in favor of the Oilers. A lottery pick (13th Overall), Jake Voracek, a decent goalie prospect, and a veteran forward for Leon Draisati and a bag of pucks.

Personally, I would only do the Montreal trade, the most realistic IMO. I would definitely do the Arizona trade in a heartbeat. The others, IMO, seem suspect to happen

That's fair.

The few times I saw Ceci play he looked flat out bad and I thought they were souring on him. So I was looking for him to get a change of scenery bounce back. If that isn't the case eliminating him from that trade is no big loss.

Arizona might be overvaluing Crouse as he has bust written all over him right now. But again eliminating him from that trade isn't a big loss as there are kids on the Phantoms who could take 4th Line LW right now .

As for Draisaitl I hope you are right about me overvaluing him but I think with Jake's contract and Draisaitl's upside he is going to cost a fortune. But if he could be had for less great.

I watched Crouse play junior in Kingston. The kid plays a 200 foot game - and was no where ready for the NHL this season. He has the potential to be a really good 2nd line player, so long as Arizona doesn't go all Grigorenko on him.

I am shocked that you didn't opt for Nugent-Hopkins in the Edmonton deal. Here's why

1. over the last 3 years, his Corsi numbers have him in the same company as Patrice Bergeron. Now regarded as one of the top 5 two way centres in the game...... and he's 24.
2. He can be had for far less given his down year, the emergence of Leon and the resulting decrease in playing time.
3. Now winning 50% of his faceoffs
4. Long term, will make less than Leon; meaning better dispersal of money.

Think you might get to keep a nugget in that package and still improve the team. Just my opinion.

As a Habs fan, I wouldn´t do that deal. The value seems to be fair, but this deal would fix one hole but open up two others.

I´m not sure, if Edmonton would do this trade.

Swinny´s comment about RNH is a very good idea for a #2C. I have done several trades Edmonton/Habs which would see RNH in an Habs jersey.
