I do not see the Wild letting a perfect 4th line center walk. Especially how their center depth has been over the last few years. I could see Goli walking possibly, but also think he will take a discount to stay home at the end of his career.

With Freddy G signed and Rossi set to get a spot (ready or not) for next year Sturm is the odd man out. Plus I think he'll sign a $2m+ deal somewhere as a UFA; that prices him out of MN.

Addison (step down, but the kid needs NHL icetime) replaces Goli in the top-6 next year. Merrill re-signing pushes Goli out unless it's a league min type of deal. His points total will get him overpaid somewhere this offseason.

Another reason I believe Sturm stays is his personal life is perfect in MN right now. I know his gf's family, they live in MN and he lives with her. I do think Goli leaving makes more and more sense after these signings. Addison is ready for the show and is only going to get better. I just remember there were rumblings of the Goli taking a hometown discount. But a very good point about merrill-addison.

His girlfriend plays for the Whitecaps so she may find a place to play out east near him if he gets a good offer somewhere else. The PHF is expanding by 2 teams next year so she should be able to find something if that's an issue for them.

Dewar may be more of a fit for the 4RW spot if they view Beckman as needing a top 9 role. His point total in Iowa this year suggests he may need more time in the AHL before getting a serious NHL look.
