Would be a pretty easy no from the jets. They’d likely look elsewhere and get a 2nd while retaining 50% on statsny

While Rask going back is preferable, the Jets can't realistically take any cap hit back. They have less then $400k in available cap space. That remains true through the TDL too.

We can already afford to bring on Stastny without sending cap back or making any other moves right now. Furthermore, we will have $7.5M in accumulated cap space around the TDL to add someone.

You can't afford it anyway. I'd happily do that and/or give up the 2nd without retention for Stastny as is. We can afford it.

As @RazWild so correctly points out, and I forgot, the calculation of the daily cap means we can afford Stastny without sending Rask back. So we could just do a 2nd for him, if that's the price, and just take him onboard.

I could see that happening which is rare for me with a Wild trade lately
