A bit older team. They need to either go all in for the next 2-3 years , then blow it up.

Or they get younger now and try to balance youngsters with a contending team

Great idea. I like your assessment here.

I think we are all surprised about how our prospects have played this year. Middle of the road prospects for sure, but above what I was thinking before the season. I really like our center depth (McMichael Lap and Protas). I heard Bear Hughes has promise as well.

Eventually, the Caps will have to go into a rebuild, but hopefully we can get one more cup before

I agree entirely with your assessment. our defense looks pretty solid for the future, with all 6 of those guys possibly making an NHL impact (7 if you count Lemay, who I like quite a bit). When Washington does eventually decide to rebuild, I have a guess that it may be more towards what Mike Rizzo is doing with the Nationals, with a speed rebuild. I've been impressed enough with the prospects that it may be possible to do the same thing as Rizzo with the Caps. Only time will tell though.
