Oilers can run either 11 forwards 7 defense or the traditional 12 and 6

Holloway should be called up sometime in March and if all goes well, maybe he can handle some top 6 ice time with Draisaitl
Trades
1.
ANA
  1. Samorukov, Dmitri
  2. 2022 1st round pick (EDM)
  3. 2024 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Conditional 3rd - turns into 2024 2nd if Lindholm re-signs with oilers
2.
EDM
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Barrie was bound to bring back value and if the Oilers shop him around, I can see teams taking the bait. Seattle can get their PP1 quarterback to replace Giordano and Barrie would be their best puck moving guy. Barrie would also add a little mobility to their back end as Dunn is really the only mobile guy back there. Barrie doesn't have to be traded to SEA but it could be any team that is interested.
SEA
  1. Barrie, Tyson
Additional Details:
I'm convinced Barrie played bad to get Tippett fired because he's somehiw improved under Woodcroft
3.
EDM
  1. Mayfield, Scott
Additional Details:
Assuming that the isles have Pulock and Dobson on the right side on the top two pairings, that leaves Mayfield on the third pairing which can easily be replaceable. Also, if the isles continue their dissapointing play next season, it's doubtful that Mayfield re-signs with the team too. I think the package going back will be helpful to the isles as they get good value for a guy they might potentially lose to free agency.
NYI
  1. Benson, Tyler
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (EDM)
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
  4. 2023 4th round pick (EDM)
4.
EDM
  1. Holtby, Braden
Additional Details:
this trade would only happen if the oiler goalies aren't playing well. I'd rather first see the oilers look at how the Koskinen/Smith tandem pans out as they haven't been healthy at the same time for much of the season. Now that they're both at 100%, the oilers can find the right playing time for both guys and hopefully both play strong giving the oilers options going into the playoffs.

Can't see Seattle trading a 2nd for an overpriced 30-year-old luxury item. They're just into building the first time, not one highly specialized piece away from contending.

It’s one thing to say Seattle isn’t in position to add someone like Barrie which is very fair take but the overpriced comment isn’t correct. Look at what right handed d get paid Hamilton Jones so on and Barrie makes half but fully capable of out producing them. Sure he has some flaws to his game which are overblown but his production easily covers his salary.

Wow, so much to sort through here. Let me give it a shot.

- Barrie is overpriced (this is not a hot take at all), and bringing up two far superior and yet still overpriced examples doesn't help the argument.

- Barrie was capable of producing at a similar level (not outproducing them), but that time appears to be in the past now.

- Let's be real, his flaws are not overblown. Dude is a major defensive liability, and he no longer produces enough to obscure that well-known fact.

- The guy has 18 points in 41 games, and just nine in 644 even strength minutes. If it wasn't for coat-tail riding McD and Drai, those numbers would be even sadder. And for a 30-year-old guy with obvious defensive issues and a 2x4.5 remaining after this season, that is not what I consider covering his salary. If you think it is, well gosh... good luck with all that. Just be aware that there are currently 59 RDs with a better points per $ ratio (or almost enough for every team in the league to have two), and almost all of those are far superior defensively. There are 151 D-men with better pts/$ ratios, which is a little under five for every team (and again, most are much better defensively, to boot). In all, there are a grand total of 530 NHL players currently with a better pts/$ ratio, or enough for every team to have just over 16-and-a-half of them (and, mind you, teams dress 18 skaters per night).

I don't know what else to tell you, man.
