I have a hard time with the idea of Peterka going back to the AHL again. He is dominating.

I also don't like giving up all that for Dumba, who can simply walk to UFA.

I also don't like Pysyk in the press box.

Dumba either resigns if he appears to be the answer for Dahlins partner or he is traded at the deadline tobrecoup the majority if not all the Sabres gave up for him. The Sabres can retain 50% at the deadline and that would be very attractive for a contender. Pysyk will play when people are injured, after the deadline or if Fitz struggles and needs a game or two in the press box. So he likely still sees 40 games plus on this team. Peterka is likely up very early in the season injury or if anyone else struggling. If he is undeniable then the Sabres move Girgensons or asplund or czikas to make room

I highly doubt we get that much for Dumba at the deadline and if we resign him to keep him off the market we have no leverage (think Jef f Skinner) and now we are paying him big bucks that will cover the time we have to resign Dahlin and Power (and thompson, and cozens etc.)

Dumba will either be kept by wild because their literally hasn't been any facts Minnesota has any interest in moving on from him. He also blocks any trade to Buffalo, so he won't be signing an extension
