Description

Caps and Flyers have been scouting each other like crazy recently at the NHL and AHL level. I don't think (and hope it's not) for Giroux. Love him but he'd be too much for a rental. Supposidely Konecny has been on the outs the last couple seasons and was almost traded last summer. He'd fit it great with Caps style of play. Think Flyers will move him to make room for Johnny Hockey this summer, so this might be a summer trade instead. Either way, Caps should try to get him.

Konecny hasn't been stellar the last 2 seasons like he was his first 3 so his price shouldn't be crazy high.

Can't see Philly moving Konecny unless McMichael or Lapierre goes back. Alexeyev and Leason/late first don't move the needle, IMO.

Yeah then I see it hard the Caps doing it, but who knows, maybe they will. I think if Konecny was continuing to be as good as he was those first 3 years then yeah it would make sense. But if they are moving out McMichael or Lap they'd probably go after a bigger fish.

PHI has a healthy wade allison and isaac ratcliffe, both looking outstanding.

TK is a down year scoring and the team struggling for any offense, is still on pace for 60+ pts and he gets far more than that. A 1st, your top prospect (maybe Iorio) is the starting point.

A prospect is just that. TK is a 60+ pt 25 yr old, signed reasonably, long term and PHI isn;t trading him just to hope a prospect becomes as good as TK.

He's on pace for barely 50 points this season (50.35 to be exact). He was on pace for 56 last season. He hit 60+ once. I'm not saying he's bad, I think he can certainly be a consistent 60 point player but his downward trend away from that and the fact PHI brass don't seem to want him probably means he won't get full value. That being said, I'd probably do 1st+Iorio, just don't know if it will cost that much.
