This makes perfect sense. Strome has been tied to Ottawa for a while.

Is the trade even or no? I don't know much about Ottawa's prospects. I just was looking for not an A prospect that was a forward. I also picked the TBL 2nd which is a later 2nd round pick as I thought asking for OTT's 2nd would be like 25 picks higher and people might balk.

I don’t think we need centres anymore since Stutzle became a centre. We have switched off our needs to a very good 2nd line winger preferably right wing. With Pinto , White, Brown , Paul, Formenton, Stutzle in our middle 6 , and Greig/Jarventie/Sokolov pushing soon, it’s hard to see the fit

The value isnt bad! Ostapchuk looked amazing in camp, they almost kept him around instead of sending him back to junior when they did. Big body, good speed and physicality but for some reason he's had a tough go back in the WHL. He's played okay but hasnt blown any doors down like he did in camp so I think Ottawa would be open to moving him with that TB 2nd.

That said, I do agree with csick that I dont think centre is the priority right now and Strome needing a new deal at (likely) bigger money isnt ideal either so despite the value being good I think Ottawa passes.
