made for a friend but feel free to comment if youd like. chevy (if he’s still around) will prob sign some plugs to fill out the roster as well so i’m not gonna bother speculating on those. the reality is, winnipeg has enough competition internally to fight for spots at forward and on D.

-i predict copp will walk in free agency (more likely now with his injury) and stastny is traded at the deadline. copp’s contract is a bit less than what he could have got and that mightve been a part of some unspoken deal during negotiation where copp takes a slight discount to help the team one more year and then he’s allowed to walk if he chooses. stastny has less history with the team and his politics (regarding the convoy) might have hurt his likeability in a room where wheeler is captain so i think hes a better candidate to be traded at the deadline. just a theory tho
-dubois gonna get paid, 8x8 might be optimistic
-comrie has played above expectations to this point and has definitely earned another contract imo. not sure what the value would be tho.
-stanley trade is just something id like to see happen with the logjam at LD. i’ve not liked what i’ve seen from him this year at all. i can see a player like vesalainen being included in that deal
-then chevy has a few mill to make his depth signings. lots of good prospects coming up like the chazmanian devil to consider as well. chevy also has room to be creative with the D if he chooses to trade schmidt and/or dillon
