Why would they decline, Helleson is a top defensive prospect and is right handed. I know he might not be the Braden Schneider type that we want but I think that he could still be a great top 4 d man that can play the power play.

I agree with everything you said perfect compromise for the jets and get a second round pick and keep scheifele as he'd probably get traded for the Schneider return

Kulak is a nice player, but Byram seems to be progressing nicely. If you keep Murray, Kulak just creates a logjam on the left side. LD would have Toews, Byram, Murray, Kulak, JJ, compared to just Makar, Girard, and EJ on the right, and keep in mind Girard is also just a lefty who can play the right side. Braun gives us a needed extra right-handed shot for cheap, and he can fit into how the team plays better than Kulak.
