I think Pulock for Nylander alone is probably even

I don't see the Isles trading Pulock before his extension even kicks in. Plus:

That makes the rest of this trade Beauvillier for Liljegren which is bad value, Isles say no.

Yeah I don't think it's likely either but if Lou thinks this Islanders team needs a legit star forward to play with Barzal then you're going to have to part ways with a really good player. I think Pulock is a little overrated cause he plays with Pelech and Mayfield fits just fine on that top pair. Also Dobson needs a full time opportunity in the top four so where does that leave Pulock? Also I don't think Nylander for Pulock is even one for one so I included Beauvillier but I also don't think a 2 for 1 is fair so I also added Liljegren to balance it out

Mayfield has held his own with Pelech this year, definitely - I just don't know if he's the answer going forward considering he's UFA after next season and will be 30 - don't know about you, but I don't love giving out long term deals to big, physical Ds into their mid-30s. Pelech/Pulock was also the backbone of the last two playoff runs - those guys existed specifically to shut down the Crosbys and Pastrnaks of the world. That's one of the reasons why a team like Tampa, who can spread out Point/Kucherov/Stamkos over different lines, was able to beat them both years.

My hope is that instead of moving an asset like Pulock, they use some of the cap space they have this summer and go after one of the UFA forwards that might be out there - Forsberg/Gaudreau/Hertl might not be as valuable as Nylander and his $6.9M AAV, but I think having Pulock/Beau/one of those 3 is more valuable overall than Nylander/whoever the Isles sign to replace Pulock.

Fair, but getting one of those UFA’s is easier said than done
