I still don’t think he takes this. He could easily get 8 on the open market. You either offer him 8 years at 7.75 per or he takes a 1 year 6.5 per and walks to free agency

Sure, but the winger core is at least top 3 in the league from top to bottom. And it really depends on how Rossi performs. Rossi-Ek-Jost as your top 3 centers is not awful if Rossi is a legit top 6 center. It's not great, but it's not awful.

I think all these contracts are in the range that each player will get, which is what I was trying to demonstrate here, how it's possible to do. I made another thread with what I think is actually going to happen. Fleury got 5M, Middleton got 3M, and Fiala is gone.
