Why not just forget about both Trocheck and Rakell and resign Kadri instead (and nitpicking here, but I think Chu gets at least 5mil)?

Regarding EJ. IMO moving an 4.5m contract and not expecting any cap return to 19 teams is a difficult trade. So many team on his trade list don't have 4.5m to spare

You have $14.8M in cap space in summer 2023 to re-sign MacKinnon, Newhook, Byram, Kaut, and replace Cogliano/any scratches.

We can agree to disagree.
I think EJ retained has value. If they need to add a pick, so be it.
If not, buy him out and take the 2mil hit vs the 1.5mil retained
