Description

Regarding the trades:

Edmonton could bolster their forward and goaltending depth for next season and onwards with Kerfoot able to play all forward positions and the PP/PK effectively. Mrazek historically has a decent save percentage and his style may better suit the Oilers than the Leafs.

Holl is definitely better than Dermott. Holl plays the most shutdown minutes on the Leafs and is effective at it compared to Dermott, who was playing 3rd pair minutes and more sheltered compared to Holl. If Dermott got a third round pick, then Holl can get a third round pick and Tryamkin's rights at minimum. Maybe Canucks will have to add a bit more but this should be the core of the deal.

Liljegren and Sandin have pretty similar impacts on the Leafs though they excel at different things. Giordano may feel the three million cap is enough of a team friendly number.

Halak at the tail end of his career may accept a contract similar to what Simmonds signed where it's more than his previous single season cap hit but spread over double the years.
