Description
Prioritize forward depth over superiority between the pipes: we've seen what Woodcroft's Oilers can do. I imagine the marginal upgrades on the blueline and the decent step forward in net here probably have the Oilers on par with this season's Toronto Maple Leafs. I'll happily take a 4th-place finish with room to grow.

Aim to solve the goaltending crisis internally with Skinner and another tandem netminder or offer Jarry the moon next offseason as the Penguins finally begin to wane.

2022 NHL Entry draft:

#37 (via PHI): (RD) Tristan Luneau (Gatineau, QMJHL)
#63 (via FLA): (G) Topias Leinonen (JYP, U20 sarja)

I think Habs accept that. Seattle rejects easily they’re third last in the league why are the buying Barrie? Arizona I think rejects because moving up 5-10 spots I don’t think is worth giving up another top 40 pick, and Mike smith has 0 value to them

No thanks from NSH. Myers didn't work out, but he's only under contract for one more year. Foegele has an extra year at a higher cap hit, and I'd honestly rather have McCarron than him.

Seattle doesn't own puck-moving defencemen and they still have the framework of a roster intended on winning. They were sunk by criminally unlucky goaltending and a poor power play. Given that Barrie immediately helps with one of those, why shouldn't they make that kind of move? exist in the weakest division. Fighting for a playoff spot is going to matter to them, especially if they're bringing Beniers in next season. It's a move that achieves balance first and foremost.

Arizona moves up drastically in this situation: a total of 14 spots from their pick alone. By way of draft pick values, Edmonton leaves equivalent to the #71 pick on the table, which is about what dumping the last year of Smith on them would cost. He's either going to be on LTIR or help them hit the cap floor, it's a fine deal.

Is the expectation that nobody play for Nashville next season then? I don't think your feedback is at all realistic: it's a cap-equivalent move and Nashville gets the best piece in that deal. All it would mean is Nick Cousins not getting re-upped on a new deal and Trenin moving to pivot.

Some actual feedback would be great.
