You've added the money to the cap but also traded the player away -along with his cap- to Arizona so didn't you just double Keith's relief?

You're doing it wrong. You don't ADD cap to reflect negative recapture. You need to subtract it.

Negative cap recapture of Keith means the oilers save his cap hit + negative recapture. There's no function on here to add a cap credit for it so just added it to the cap itself.

Just because Puckpedia posted something doesn't make it true. Below is a link to the CBA below. The NHL does specifically outline how to treat a traded player and how Recapture would affect both teams. It's on page 267 - Illustrations 3, 4, and 5. That same link below also takes you do the modifications made during the Pandemic to which there was 1 change made to the cap recapture. It's item #63 on Page 24. You can also see from the 2nd link TSN goes into details about what that change is.

***EDIT*** Don't forget that EDM is actually benefiting from the reduced salary right now. Paying $2.1M in salary for his services, but a cap hit of ~$5.5M. How is it possible that EDM won't get some kinda of recapture themselves?

I mean Puckpedia are the experts relating to cap-specific and contract-specific situations. Nhl teams even use the site. I'd take their expert analysis of all things CBA over a guy that did a quick google search of the CBA and a tsn article on a forum post. In terms of cap recapture penalities, the cost part of recapture always goes back to the team that originally signed the deal. See Vancouver alla luongo as an example. I don't claim to be a CBA expert, I just trust the information provided by the experts on that matter.
