Not enough quality. I think the ask from Buffalo for Fiala would be the 9th overall pick and a mid-level prospect.

16th a B prospect and I think Buffalo does it. Of course his contract could be a obstacle.

You get a great D prospect, a great goalie prospect, a middle 6 center, a late 1st. That's not a shortage on quality I just think its the wrong kind of quality for Minnie.

Johnson (IMO) projects as a 4/5, I wouldn't call him "great", but he is "good". Problem is we have Lambos, who I think could be more of a 3/4, and O'Rourke, Hunt, and Peart in our system all could be 4-6D. In other words, he doesn't hold the value for us as he would for Buffalo. Portillo could be a starter some day and he's a fine piece, but we have Wallstedt already who would take away minutes from Portillo which would likely squash his development. Mitts (again, IMO) is a bottom 6 center that would be an expensive 4th liner on the Wild. I would be intrigued by him had we not traded for Jost, but I don't see any way Dean plays him above Hartman, Ek, Gaudrea, or even Rossi if he makes the team. That 1st is probably going to be the last pick in the draft, or close to it. If you're trading a 25 year old 85 point winger, sorry, but that's hardly a quality piece.

I see your points. Again its not the right pieces to give to the Wild to have them consider it good quality. Would the 16th OA and a prospect like Rosen get it done for Fiala? If not what would you counter?
