Description
I'll hop on the Gibson trade train for this one, but I have some serious doubts. Hopefully he can do better in Washington, but given the issues the Caps had on defense, I fear he will get the Samsonov treatment.

Walker is worth more than an over-the-horizon third, and Anaheim shouldn't trade Gibson for a first that will be devalued precisely because the Caps have him for a full season -- that pick would have to be your 2022 first.

After the exit interviews it seemed as though Blake was not moving Walker, which makes sense, he plays both sides and fits the Kings bottom-4. This just means Durzi and Spence will have another year to season in the AHL. I think if Durzi is moved it will be mid-season now.

Both fair points. I was under the impression Walker would have lost value due to his long injury, but I can get why LA wants more than a long away 3rd. Would WPG’s 2nd rounder suffice?

As for Gibson, it seems I misclicked when doing that trade. It should be the 2022 1st rounder for the reason you just mentioned.

Interesting. I’m surprised they’d want to put Durzi in the AHL for another season, as I was a fan of his play when I got into watching the Kings late into the year.
