They’re not. They’re a very good team.

Folks need to realize that hockey, especially in the playoffs is ridiculously high variance. Tampa had an off week, and got swept by columbus. All they’ve done is rattle off 10 straight series wins since. Sometimes it happens where the bounces don’t go one teams way for a week, or a goalie has a tough few games (that’s what happened here), or some guy on the other side goes nuclear.

It happens, it’s still a good team. A very good team in fact.

That said, no chance a year of tkachuk gets three first round picks.

Funny trades. Leafs sign a good goalie for less than 6m and keep all those assets. One year of Tkachuk isn't worth nearly that much. Heck an extended Tkachuk isn't worth nearly that much.
Sens can likely get a signed Fiala for just one first rounder.
