I signed Trochek as I think we need some improvement down the center but there doesn't seem to be a lot of quality centers on ufa this season at any rate by basic premise is we need to sign another 4-5 million dollar guy for a middle 6 role. (Palat or Strome or Kadri would all fit this role as well but I don't think we will be able to sign any of them)

We had over 11 million attached to Monahan who may be too injured to compete and Lucic who the game has clearly passed and is no longer effective. if Treliving can find some magical way of getting rid of those two contracts or if Monahan regains his top 6 center ability then I think we just run it back with this team as intact as possible next season and hopefully add those 1-3 pieces around the middle of the team that will project us forward next year.

The only other thing I would think of doing is trading Vladar. He seems to be right on the edge of being a NHL starter and a team without a proven starter might take a flyer on him right now. Flames should sell high as it seems that the most logical progression will be Markstrom handing it down to wolf in 3-4 years so we might as well get what we can for a back up goalie while he's worth something
