Description

I'm sure when Ullmark signed in Boston he couldn't have imagined that by year two he'd be the backup on a team potentially heading into a rebuild. I figure he'd waive his NMC for a playoff-caliber team where he'd be the unquestioned starter. Whether the Bruins are really rebuilding or not, it probably makes sense to trade Ullmark rather than keep him around as a 5 million dollar backup to Swayman. Vanecek gives them a cheap backup who can handle sort of a 1B role if the Bruins don't want to rush Swayman straight into a full-time starter role.

I’ll mark would not solve Caps netminding issue. Just because the Bruins overpaid this guy doesn’t mean he’d be good on the Caps. He is not a goalie you get if you are chasing a cup. Would rather stay with Sammy.

Ullmark was 12th out of 48 goalies in SV% this year (min 1500 minutes played), and he's 10th out of 45 over the last three years combined (min 4000 minutes). Sammy is 43rd on the first list and 38th on the second. I think Sammy's still got the potential to become a starter, but Ullmark's a much safer bet.

I cant see why the sabres wouldnt except that. Team looks good with trochek signing.

Really like this team, and all moves are very realistic. Doesn't have to be BUF but someone will pay a 3rd for Eller. Puljujarvi and Nichuskin would be so perfect for this team
