Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Dickinson, Jason
  2. Höglander, Nils
  3. Poolman, Tucker
  4. 2023 1st round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Canucks want to add to their defense. Murphy has been the most reliable defensemen for the Blackhawks for the past few years. Murphy has strong shut-down defensive game and will bolster the Canucks pk. Murphy is also a leader on the ice and will throw his body to either block shots, make hits, and throw punches.

The pick is top 10 protected or trade is made after Miller trade.
2.
CHI
  1. Compher, J.T.
  2. Ranta, Sampo
  3. 2025 2nd round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
This happens if Colorado can't find a way to sign a 2nd line center.
Yes, Toews has declined over the past few seasons. But he can serve as temporary middle six center for Colorado that can win faceoffs, play on the pk, and provide a decent amount of offense to the team.
COL
  1. Toews, Jonathan ($5,250,000 retained)
  2. 2024 5th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Toews seems to be fed up with Chicago more than Kane. I think Toews knows he doesn't have much time left in his career and so he wants to win now.
3.
CHI
  1. Monahan, Sean
  2. Whynot, Cameron [Reserve List]
  3. 2024 3rd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Calgary clears 6.3 million off the books for a reasonable price
CGY
  1. Khaira, Jujhar
Additional Details:
Chicago should bring in Monahan, especially if they plan on trading Toews. Monahan will be out to start the season but who-knows he may have a bounce back season playing in Chicago's top six.
4.
CHI
NYR
I don't see Chicago moving Kane until the TDL unless things change. Chicago would get the most value if they trade him during the off-season. If they wait to move him at the deadline, I see the return being less but a similar package compared to the Stone trade.

I get that, I just couldn't see where Hoglander fits in with the canucks lineup at the moment. Are Canucks trying to contend next season or retool by trading Garland and Miller wait till next season?

Apparently, according to the news, it's Kane that isn't waiving as of now. He wants to see which teams are competitive into the season and determine if there are any he would waive for. It's also good for Chicago, every players cap hit is prorated as the season wears on making Kane more and more affordable as a rental to a playoff contender. I disagree, and I know it may not be popular, that his value is less now then into the season for that exact reason.

Oh thanks captain obvious... The Flames still need to resign Tkachuk and Mangiapane. With Monahan cap being removed they can try and sign an additional UFA like Kadri or etc.
