Pittsburgh decline - the only reason we are shopping Marino is because we have too many NHL dmen. We will be trading him for a top 6 forward or a package of futures

Mitts is potentially a 2C I think he takes the jump this season, but for arguments sake he is a high end scoring 3C/LW Id probably play him with Carter and Kapanen. What would the sabres need to add to him to get Marino?

Assets that id be willing to add would be Poltapov, Kisakov, Nuechev, Ryan Johnson, Bloom.

Obviously depends on how highly management values mitts as he is kind of a wild card in terms of what he is and what he will become. But they would just want some futures in return and I really don’t know enough about any of your prospects to say much more. Probably one of those 3 second round picks you have and a solid propsect - not one of your top propsects but a guy who projects to be an NHLer

All the players listed above are projected NHLers with decent upside but they aren't guaranteed top liners. Id think that the Sabres should strongly consider a trade around someone like Poltapov, and a second.
