Description
A lot of this depends on the MTC for both Dumba and Gardiner but MIN clears 2 mil in cap and CAR adds top 4 caliber D. If Gardiner can’t play, theres enough space to stash him on IR and keep accruing cap.

I have zero clue what VGK thinks they’re doing but the Wild could just as easily Offer Sheet for 4.2 mil. Just an alternative as I think the offer sheet will be the leverage and not the transaction.

Gimme Larsson or ZAR if they need another bottom 6 guy.

Gardiner isn't injured, and the Canes have 5 RD as it is. You can take Gardiner if you want him though

I'd really rather have Hartman.

Edit: And why the f*** are we adding a 2nd on top of him for a player who isn't a necessarily a better player? Aside from being younger?

The 2nd is just the offer sheet compensation, honesty a 3rd or a 4th would be more likely but the idea that a roster player and a pick goes the other way to open cap and sign a better deal. Could just as easily be moving Kulikov and not signing a 4th liner.

I went back and forth on Hartman. I think he’s great to have around and I’m skeptical BG moves him, but I think he returns to an upper 40 pt guy next year. I kinda put him there as proof of concept to make VGK people think about it more reasonably.

I do think Roy is somebody the front office is eyeing. They can bring him in with the cap they made with the Talbot deal and a Dumba/Kuli trade.

The VGK deal is about who they bring in rather than what goes the other way. I think it’s gonna be hard enough unloading the full freight of Dumba’s contract but if they can do that, I think you’re looking at a much more favorable Roy deal if it happens. Everything is just really tight right now.
