Description
FLA is in need of D with a C to spare.
COL is in need of a C with a D to spare.
Wouldn’t be a trade within the same division.
Both teams have cup aspirations.

There’s no doubt that there’s a deal to be made somewhere here.

BELOW ARE POTENTIAL TRADE FRAMEWORKS. Obviously there’s a pick or prospect needing to go one way or another but these would be the main center pieces.

Bennett for Girard is the only trade that makes sense for Florida

Bennett is a notch below Girard unfortunately.

He’s a career 35pt/ season player making 4.4milx3, a bit too rich. Heck, deduct his last seasons production and his contract looks even worse.

He has been great ever since he joined Florida. Lundell is most likely untouchable and I can’t see them trading Reinhart.

Byram is probably untouchable from COLs end too. This AGM is simply looking at teams needs and wants and I’ve identified two teams with matching holes and surpluses.

I think Lundell makes Reinhart expendable as early as next year. I think while Reinhart might have more value, Girards lower cap hit and longer contract term bridges the difference in value.

I think he's shown that he's more than that now though. 0.8 ppg/ 0.41 gpg over his 85 games as a Panther. Not saying to completely discount his years in Calgary, but he's gone from a 13-14 minute a night guy in Calgary to 17-18 in Florida. If I was the Panthers I'd consider doing it straight up, mayyyybe adding a mid round pick, but absolutely no way on the Bennett for EJ trade, and as much as I love Byram, I'd be keeping Lundell 100% of the time.
