Description

I would love to see this. Im sure the chem between the two brothers would be off the charts. Easier for Dallas to trade for Nick rather than Toronto to trade for Jason. Plus its easier to get him now then after he has a great season or seasons in Toronto. Although its probably unrealistic especially after last nights performance, I would still like to see it haha. Robertson is the talented cheap guy Toronto needs in the top 6 given the current state of their team, however, given their pressure to succeed and it being far higher than Dallas, I think that gives them leverage to where Dubass would consider it. If he gets pieces he needs then It makes more sense to me if im on the hot seat. Trade for anything that will try to get me success, rather than invest in a player who is still very young and may not even matter to me if I get fired during or after this season.

This is just me dreaming of course, but what kind of offer would Dallas have to make Dubass?? Im curious.

If they were going to make this trade, it would have happened in the offseason when Robertson's value was arguably at its lowest. Now that he's (seemingly) in the NHL full-time and started off the season the way he has, his value has increased (and is still rising). I don't see Toronto entertaining a trade for him without one of Johnston, Stankoven, or Bourque as a part of the return...which is off the table from Dallas' perspective.

Jake Ottinger. I'm not kidding either. Leafs don't have the cap space to make any of your pieces work. They're in win-now mode, so your picks and prospects don't move the needle. So take Murray, give us Ottinger, and then we talk.

I know, never going to happen, and you would be crazy to consider it because Nick Robertson is clearly not worth a starting goalie, but you have nothing else that would interest the Leafs/that the Leafs would actually be able to use.
