Description
Panthers: getting more Cap space for the future. Could Klingberg go back to FLA in the same package? Panthers could use some more help on the blueline.

Overall: two equally good goalies in my opinion. Both goalies are overpaid- Gibson with more term and Bobrovsky with a bigger Cap hit. I don't think Ducks have any problems with the Cap space in the near future.

Ducks: getting futures back. I just couldn't figure out what it could be. Maybe a forward like Reinhart, he hasn't been the greatest to start of the season. Denisenko? Sourdif? Or just picks. Maybe somebody else.

The Panthers don't have any picks or prospects that make this trade worth it, and Bob would get killed out here just like Gibson would.

At face value, it makes some sense to each team I guess? However, Bobrovsky holds a no move clause and wouldn't agree to leave no income tax Florida to play in high tax California

Not to mention that Bob heading to Cali would *roughly* cut his paycheque in half. He ain't waiving his NMC for that.

It's insane! Californian's out there paying Canadian-esque tax rates!

It's not halved. Over 1 mil in income is taxed at 13% in CA, there are no additional tax brackets after that. He is still paying the 37% federal no matter which state he is in.

37+13 does come out to his paycheck being half what he signed for, but the delta from Florida (or Texas, Washington, etc) to CA is not as significant as some would believe.
