Leafs don't need a LHD, and certainly can't afford Dillon next season.

Cap could be going to 84-86.5mill and even if its 83.5mill

Kerfoot and his 3.5mill come off the books along with Holl's 2mill and Muzzin's 5.625mill will probs remain on LTIR. So yes they can afford but they have 0 need for a LD agreed.

Sure Kerfoot and Holl comes off....that's 5.5m but those two players have to replaced, so it's no all free cap.

Certainly too early to dismiss Muzzin just yet. But if he is on LTIR. 5.6m, plus 5.5m for departing UFAs, and lets say 85.m cap. That's 13.6 to replace Kerfoot, Holl and Muzzin (plus another two players to make a 22 man roster, and then increases to Kampf, Holmberg, Samsonov and Bunting. I dunno, I wouldn't want Dillon eating up 3.9m of it because they the Leafs are cheating out elsewhere.
