Sharks are looking to rebuild and move on from the Doug Wilson era.

They need picks and prospects more than they need DeBrincat.

Why would the sharks decline? DeBrincat is young enough to be a core piece in a rebuild. If anything the Senators would say no.

The Sharks only need to move off of karlsson becuase the Canadian "insiders" say so

1. San Jose is retaining 3 million of EK65's salary until 2027.

2. DeBrincat will want 9 million per year, starting next season.

3. Zaitsev is a cap dump of 4.5 million until 2024.

4. When you add it up, a team with several bad contracts is taking on more cap and the only futures they are getting in this trade are Lassi + a 2nd round pick.

San Jose declines.
