Even if it's a fair deal, the Leafs really can't afford Konecky next season. Lots of players need raises

Isn't Jarnkrok looking OK next to Tavares? Honestly it's pretty weird how hard it is to find someone to fit there, a potato should be able to score next to Tavares.

Leafs are making it tough to tell what they need. The bottom 6 seems to be good enough lately. The defense should be catastrophic with all the injuries but it's doing fine. The goaltending gamble is paying off.

Other than an absolute stud rental for the top 6 or a serious D upgrade, it really doesn't make much sense to do much at the moment.
