Waving the white flag by trading Noah Hanifin and Jakob Markstrom (and Elias Lindholm and Andrew Mangiapane) is surrendering to the inevitability of missing the playoffs, which I don't think management are about to do.

On the flip side, we wouldn't trade Brandt Clarke for Hanifin, and we wouldn't trade our franchise icon and 2023 first-round draft pick for Markstrom.
