Yamamoto is pretty beat up this season, his stats reflect this, he likely won’t heal this season to effectively help in the push for a playoff spot, best to find him a team in the East, so he doesn’t “make the Oilers regret it” when he plays them (his draft interview quote). The kid is a pitbull, but need LTIR to fit in the players needed.

The Karlsson deal is if Grier is looking for an exit on EK’s massive cap hit and EDM needs an upgrade in their top 4. They need to go for it and MG, the GM, has an Oilers logo tattooed on his chest :)

As per above, riffing off of Seravalli’s speculation post a few weeks ago. EDM needs more top 4 dmen and Nashville might want get out from ME’s contract ASAP, given their position in the standings this season. So getting younger might have appeal.

Braun is given a shot at a Cup before retirement, sometimes trades are made with this in mind. Same goes for EK and ME. Braun gives EDM more experienced D depth for a potential long run and to supplement/insulate the top 2 inexperienced reinforcements in Bakersfield.

Rather than send him to a bigger city or to warmer place, Kuzmenko is sent to EDM, so he appreciates Vancouver more and is therefore more likely to go back after he is a UFA.
