The ask on Chychrun is already high as is and it's not being met. Then you want them to retain 1.55m and take back Mike Reilly's cap, that extra year is problematic. No team is going to want to help Boston that much without getting rewarded for it. If Arz retains on Chychrun it's only to facilitate a trade where they are getting their ask and some. Chances are they retain 1m max.

Boston is in a bind, they are going to need the help of other teams to make acquisitions but with them being the best team this season and one of the better teams in the league for a while now, no one is going to want to help them improve without being helped themselves. A lot of analyst, fans, and probably even some executives thought that Boston could be struggling to make the playoffs this year. They squashed that idea.

The price on Chychrun is too high for the Bruins it seems, supposedly ARZ wanted Carlo, so the ask was probably Carlo + a 2023 1st + a good prospect (quite ridiculous, imo). They are likely going to get Gavrikov instead, they just need to move cap first which will be easier to do closer to the deadline.

Nyquist is out the rest of the regular season, they will not get a 2nd for him lol. Lucky to get a conditional late round pick from a contender trying to add cap space based on how many games he plays in the playoffs.
