Tage Thompson is signed for 7.14 for next 7 years - Id say since there both good goal scorers in the league, they make roughly the same. Plus, i dont think MTL should pay him anymore than suzuki (since centres are more valuable in the long run)

Thompson isn't a good comparable because their history is very different. Thompson was older and had a worse career early on. Caufield has been good and hyped up the moment he was drafted. the lowest is 8 mill could be a lot more

Caufield either getting the Suzuki deal but on a 7year deal, or a 8x8
But he def could ask for 8x8.5 and might get it but that would be kinda bad imo for the future if they want a playoff contender and getting players on good deals rather than give em money before they accomplish anything, like the leafs did.
