Why would Calgary do this? Lucic and Dadanov are probably equal skill-wise, and Lucic brings a playoff element/experience that Dad doesn't have. Keep your picks

A) Dadonov wouldn’t cost that much 50% retained
B) Lucic wouldn’t waive to go to MTL unless there was a pre-set deal for him to be flipped to a Contender or Team he liked
C) Calgary does not need to get rid of Lucic. They will have lots of Accumulated Cap Space by the Deadline = $4-6mil and will likely place Kylington on LTIR by then opening up an additional $2.5mil

Lucic’s Value is >/= to Dadonov’s

Jakob Pelletier >> Dadonov imo

Only reason to acquire Dadonov (or Hoffman or Drouin for that matter) would be if Huberdeau really pushed for it and thought it would help him produce more because of their friendship/familiarity/history, but we’re better off pursuing FLA’s Reinhardt or Duclair or Better Options like Max Domi or Ivan Barbashev or a Star like Tarasenko if he’ll waive to come to CGY
