Trade with CBJ

Part of me really wants to keep Smith. I liked how he played in his short stint.

I don't think Gavrikov and Roslovic are good enough to warrent giving them Smith AND a first to upgrade Dumo and McGinn. Neither are having very good seasons imo. I'd rather have Smith in the NHL for the rest of the season than take Gavrikov, and I'm not very keen on trading our first this year.

I also don't think Smith represents what the Blue Jackets need. Yes, they need left-shot D, but not offensively-minded ones like Smith; they already have Werenski, Bean, Boqvist, Jiricek, Svozil, and Ceulemans (not all lefties, but you get the point) either at the NHL level or in the system. They'd be better served with a younger version of, well, Gavrikov, who can eat tough defensive minutes.
