So you think you're getting a potential 50 goal power forward for just Holtz? Don't be ridiculous. Only leafs fans are that obnoxious. Holtz has been a consistent healthy scratch all year. He's not the prospect he once was. Be realistic.
No, but I think Holtz would be one of the most valuable pieces conceivably available to the Sharks.
Holtz is producing just about the same rate as *checks notes* Timo Meier at the same ages in the NHL, but unlike Meier he's already got a track record of producing at a PPG rate at the AHL.
There's nothing unrealistic about considering Holtz a blue chip prospect.
Fiala, a star winger just as good as Meier went for #19 pick + B level prospect.
Mark Stone, one of the best two way wingers in the game went for Brännström + a 2nd rd pick.
Taylor Hall, coming off a MVP season got the Devils a 1st + B level prospect + 2 warm bodies.
Alex DeBrincat, coming off two consecutive 40+ goal (per 82 games) seasons got the Blackhawks pick #7 in a rather underwhelming draft + 2nd + 3rd.
Meier is nowhere near a lock to even get Holtz + 1st, that'd be an extraordinary return for the Sharks.
To say nothing of thinking that the Devils (or any team for that matter) would have to add an A level prospect in Mukhammadulin on top of that.
That'd be nothing if not ridiculous.
