Description
Just having some fun because that top 6 would be an absolute nightmare for the next 2 years
Trades
1.
SJS
  1. Mittelstadt, Casey
  2. Savoie, Matthew
  3. 2023 1st round pick (BUF)
  4. 2025 2nd round pick (BUF)
2.
CHI
  1. Bryson, Jacob
  2. Olofsson, Victor ($2,375,000 retained)
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
Olofsson fetches *at worst* a 2nd plus at $1.2M next year.
(Blackhawks take Bryson as a body/fine 7th dman for the next few years after they sell off everyone at the deadline, or Sabres can do the waiver shuffle. For value's sake, I'd give up a 6th for him if Buffalo needed to add a depth defenseman)
3.
PHI
  1. Östlund, Noah
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (BUF)
  3. 2024 1st round pick (BUF)

I don’t like the package for McCabe.

Please don’t misunderstand when I say that because I don’t want to imply it’s “not enough” but it feels to me like Buffalo is offering their spare parts for what is definitely not a spare part for Chicago and other potential suitors.

I would keep it simple, prospect pick leave it at that. For example I would suggest

Chicago Blackhawks
Bloom
2023 2nd (Middle one of Buffalo/Philly/Vegas)

Buffalo Sabres
Jake McCabe

Frankly I think olofsson is criminally underrated, so Bloom and a second is fine. Although I'd rather have Murphy.

I agree the value of the trade I posted is more than fair. But being against having to flip a guy to get the extra 75% of the value is fair enough. Olofsson should get you a 1st assuming health, which puts the risk fully on CHI, so understandable.

This post is mostly about how much of a nightmare the 2nd line would be tho tears of joy

Edit: also, yeah I should've just kept it simple but needed to move a body out for the roster to work

Fair enough on Murphy. Just a huge McCabe fan. With Power/Dahlin I think the handedness doesn't matter too much so can rework the defensive lineup however you want

With Konecny having a career year, he fetches more than that deal. But tbh I’ve never heard of Ostlund so maybe that deal isn’t totally unrealistic if he’s a highly touted guy.
