Description

Unlikely, but if Calgary were to fall further away from the wild card spot, I wonder if teams would come calling about Backlund?

Also - looking at the Penguins lineup now, I am not so sure how I feel about Joseph and Smith on the second and third pairings especially come playoff time. Thoughts?

They aren't selling and Backlund definitely isn't being traded even if they did

I wouldn’t trade Dumo unless they get a decent d they can pair with Letang back. I don’t think they want to break up MP and Petry and while POJ has played well enough that I wouldn’t be worried about 2nd pair duty, 1st pair duty is a bit of a stretch for him. Especially long periods of time and playoffs. Swap out Dumo for Kapanen and Heinen

I think POJ and Smith have shown that they are capable of playing 2nd and 3rd pairing respectively. Believe it or not the thing that actually worries me is the first pair. Letang-Pettersson did not look good together in my opinion - although I have no idea how else you would organize these pairs. I'd be willing to roll with this defense if it meant improving the 3rd line.
