Description
Although reports say the Wings are not sellers, I still believe they will trade some pieces away for futures.

Wings using retention spots and Cap space wisely. Wings gets two-2nd round picks at the "deadline" and still can ice a competitive roster after it. When Hörnqvist is ready to play Adam Erne goes back to Grand Rapids. Sundqvist could be a trade candidate also, but it seems like he is a really important leader on the team.
Trades
1.
DET
  1. Raanta, Antti
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Cap hits are equal in this trade. Raanta / Husso goalie tandem. 2nd round pick is nice. Opens up a spot for Vrana.
CAR
  1. Hellberg, Magnus
  2. Kubalik, Dominik ($1,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Cheap top-9 forward for only 1,250,000-million. Hellberg has similar stats than Raanta and has a much smaller Cap hit.
2.
DET
  1. Hörnqvist, Patric
  2. White, Colin
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Wings helps Panthers with their situation and gets a 2nd round pick back. Colin White is right handed and is still an RFA after his current deal.
FLA
  1. Hägg, Robert
  2. Suter, Pius ($1,625,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Panthers can now activate Duclair from LTIR without trading an important player away. Suter is good defensively and has similar numbers than Colin White. Hägg is just a depth guy.

On its own I like the Florida deal we get a pick they get duclair and a useful Suter but as of now I don't think we want to help Florida be better.

Helping Florida should not be a thing if the return is weak, but if the Wings can get a 2nd round pick or a good prospect, I would personally take the risk. Wings have the Cap space and two-retention slots available and they should put them to good use. It's gonna be an exciting two weeks ahead applaud

Idk if we’re going to trade someone for Vrana to take their place when there is still some lingering issues between Vrana and the team or head coach.

It’s starting to get confusing/annoying how LaLonde is handling Vrana. You call him up from GR just to sit him for 3 games in a row? And then when asked about adding him to the lineup with his goal scoring ability, he uses that same line he’s said multiple times about Vrana and his “goal scoring Potential”. Why throw the word potential about a guy who literally has scored goals at a .5 clip since he’s been here?

Seems like LaLonde does not like Vrana for some reason. Very odd situation.

Derek Lalonde says "Looking to get Jakub Vrana in Tuesday against Washington, but need to figure out who comes out of lienup".
