Description
Kings won't waive Copley (17-3-1, .913%): As the Kings goalie with the most wins and reupped for next season, they won't risk losing him to waivers

Kings don't trade or waive Quick (10-12-4, .878%): As the Kings longest serving goaltender it would be an absolute insult to either trade or waive Quick so close to the end of his tenure with the LA Kings, especially after showing their team how well they treat long-tenured players a la Dustin Brown.

Kings are unlikely to move Petersen (9-5-3, 868%): The Kings have been reluctant to move a 1st, Petersen would already be back up if not for the strong play of Copley, I believe they will give Petersen another go.

Kings are unlikely to trade for an AHL goalie they can call up: Both Petersen and Vilalta are top-10 SV% goalies in the AHL, the Kings already have depth in goal, they just need one of Quick or Petersen to return to NHL 1A/1B level.

Lack of cap room/Chychrun Potential Trade: The Kings need to clear enough cap room to make a goalie trade, which would mean one of the above would need to occur to make such a trade work. The Kings will need to move Walker, Lemieux and/or Grundstrom to make a Chychrun trade work, after that how would they even have room for a goalie trade?

Just looking at the cap for next season, Chychrun just might not be a luxury the Kings want to afford . Anderson just signed for 3.25m raise, Moore over 2m raise, and beside Quick no big expiring contracts.

Have to reup Vilardi and Kupari as well. They would both need to take basically nothing and there would be no improvement in goal.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vilardi or Kupari would have been included in a Chychrun+Vejmelka deal if it was happening without Clarke. There's a rumor that ARZ wanted either Debrusk or Swayman + a 1st + one of a top prospect+ some other stuff.

I guess dealing Vilardi would make things easier for Blake but the overpay would be ridiculous and money would be very tight even then.

I don't love it, but it makes sense, the Kings forward group is stacked and more are coming. Vilardi has injury history and his value has never been higher.

Yeah, problem is the ask is probably higher for LA once they add Vejmelka and Petersen to the deal.

If it's Vilardi+Turcotte+a 1st+one of their RD prospects + a 3rd + Petersen for Chychrun+Vejmelka (Walker dealt elsewhere), might be worth it depending on who the RD is. If I was Blake, I would try to deal guys who do have a bit of an injury history in the past for Chychrun instead of their other prospects. The package is massive, but I feel like in this deal Arz would still want Clarke.
