Description

This team is a complete dumpster fire. They played a Sharks team that had won one game out of its last 15 which also happened to be against the Jets. To get shutout by them is straight up embarrassing. Keep Morrissey, Perfetti, and that’s about it, this core isn’t it and hasn’t been for the last three or so years, time to sell the farm. Chevy should’ve been fired already but he for sure should be gone this summer. Trade away Dubois, Connor, Ehlers, Schiefele, Nino, and buyout Wheeler, time to start completely new. I feel bad for Hellebuyck having to waste his prime years on a team that simply doesn’t play with passion or emotion in front of him. Trade him in the offseason so he can go win a cup somewhere and play for a team that cares. If by some miracle we manage to make the playoffs, we are easily getting swept. Congrats Calgary or Nashville, you have a free wildcard spot for the taking. Sorry for ranting, just had to get that out of my system. This team is something else

No better time to sell than this season, a bunch of UFAs after next season that likely don't resign. Might as well get the most value for them now. With the high end skill they have in their system right now, they could turn it around in like 2-3 years.

WPG should start a rebuild this summer. Dubois and MTL deal is pretty much done. Scheifele and Hellebyuck aren't extending. Connor (26) and Ehlers (27) are too old and too valuable to be kept through a 4-5 years rebuild.

WPG should trade them for as many picks and prospects as they can. Could be a fast rebuild if they manage to get high picks and good prospects for each player.

Don't buy Wheeler out. Let him rot on a bottom team for the last year of his career. That's what he deserve for being a locker room cancer.

I think I went a little harsh on some of the players. I feel for the guys like Connor, Ehlers, Lowry, Barron, Morrissey, Hellebuyck, etc who are still out there trying their best to help. I would love for us to keep them, but the reality is most of these guys won’t be sticking around for a rebuild wasting away their primes. If you want to maximize your return, then you have to make some hard choices like trading Ehlers and Connor. Frustrating it had to come to this point though when this core originally had so much promise 5/6 years ago.
