Dermott just clogs the pathway for our abundance of LHD and Hoglander, someone who would likely benefit from the opportunity we could afford him is probably of too much value to VAN for us to accept the their valuation with draft capital.

Not an ideal situation but perhaps a change of scenery trade involving Mitchell RHD who hasn't really been developed or used properly in our organisation for a multitude of reasons and has been unfortunate with untimely injuries in a trade for Hoglander. I know its not ideal for VAN or what they would hope to achieve, but if the market isn't biting they may reluctantly be willing to look at a move like this given Mitchell IMO at least has some ability, just needs that chance and a bit of consistency.

if you could get chesley+2nd for garland he would've been moved by now. Mantha makes less than meyers, has a higher ceiling, and plays a position of greater need for washington so they pass on that one too
