Higher Cap increase

The cap isn't increasing $3,000,000 this year. They already said that it was set at $83,500,000.

And with Landeskog out for the season, Colorado can easily match that offer sheet on Bowen Byram.

CHI might accept. I struggle with taking both Garland and Myers of VAN hands. But, if CHI moves Mitchell and is willing to waive or buyout Zaitsev, I guess something like this could be doable. That is a lot of salary to take on, but that pick could also be VERY good for CHIs rebuild. Might be worth it in the bigger picture.

Pretty reasonable offer. CHI may counter and take Boeser instead of Garland as the term is lower though the cap hit is higher and may help VAN more in the short term until the cap increases more.

I think if you swap out Myers for Pearson, the Hawks add the RFA rights to RD Ian Mitchell, and change the '23 2nd rd pick to Van from the OTT pick to the NYR pick, I definitely could see a trade happening.

VAN gets:
