Description

Main points here:
Bertuzzi and Domi are character guys, but are also good NHL forwards. They can help build the culture through the rebuild. They are also both not afraid to mix it up and fight for their teammates. These guys are perfect for a team with a young Bedard.

This team will need left handed defenseman. Probably a veteran for like 2-3 years. This is were the Leafs OR Vancouver trade comes in. Don't need both and maybe neither if they could find a serviceable LHD elsewhere.
VAN trade, not sure what VAN woudl be willing to give up to shed OEL but this was just a random shot I took.
TOR, they need cap space. Murray is has to go so they can get a real goaltender. Muzzin just off spinal surgery probably not a player they can bank on with their current roster and window. I didn't really know what to trade for here so left it open.

The result here is that the Hawks improve a bit (not too much), utilize their cap space a bit, and get players to play with and protect Bedard while not risking any of the future at all.

I think it would be tough for the Canucks to not take that deal for the long term health of their roster construction

I understand what you're trying to say. But it's only 4 years of OEL at $6.25M. The Hawks will take the #11 OA for sure for that. MIN has some $14M in dead cap.
